Private Stock Introduces Brand New “Americana” Inlay Pattern
On behalf of the Private Stock Department, PRS Guitars is proud to introduce the brand new “Americana” bird inlay. This inlay pattern was created by world-renowned Master Bird Carver Floyd Scholz.
The “Americana” inlay features a Bald Eagle in various positions of flight. Floyd has spent his entire life watching these graceful, powerful birds and has been carving them for over forty years, so this was a vision that came easily to him.
The first guitar we made with this inlay was the original SCJ Archtop featured in the 2008 Private Stock Calendar. Later, Danny Dedo, our expert 3-D programmer, liked the engraved version of the birds so much he spent days programming the pattern into individual pieces, made a fingerboard, and put it on his personal Santana model.
It was clear this design was something special, and we knew we would use it on future Private Stock guitars.
To that end, we are currently running Private Stock “Americana” guitars. There are several different models and colors running specially spec’d out by the Private Stock team and all featuring this stunning inlay pattern. Private Stock will be offering these guitars to Dealers and Distributors as they are completed.
