Hello, I'm new here to the official PRS forum but a regular at the prsforums. I have 11 PRS guitars which are all before 1991 with the exception of a `06 Johnny Hiland, `93 CE-24, and a `94 CE-24. As you might have already realized I'm partial to the CEs, but I do have a couple Customs and a couple Standards. I hope to see some of you guys from the other forum here as well as a meet a bunch of new people and learn something along the way. Here's the set up I've been playing at practice lately.

Nice to see you here.
It seems Orange is popular with the guys joining recently.

Thanks Boogie, it may be time for me to build a new wing on the house. LOL!

Here's a patriotic shot of a couple of my CEs and a Standard. The red one is a `91 CE-24 employee guitar that features a cedar top, uprouting and a H/S/H pickup configuration, (ala the Special or Ed King model). The white guitar is a `86 pearl white Standard, (or to be politically correct the Paul Reed Smith guitar) and the blue guitar is a `94 CE-24 with birds, gold hardware and a quilted top.

Hi there! We have similar tastes it seems. I had this rig just a few weeks ago but then sold the amp and cab. This particular PRS will always be a keeper though.

Great looking guitars! I can't decide which one I like most, but I do know I want to come sleep on your sofa.

Does that employee model have an alder body hiding under the cedar top?

Thanks serg, guitars are like children it's hard to favor just one.

The employee guitar actually has a mahogany body. It is definitely a unique piece, it's my main guitar presently.

Love the 513. Very nice! Is that a 2 x 12 cabinet?

That's the same one that Markie has. Matched so well with my Marshall C5 that I almost cried! That's a fantastic cab.

I hadn't planned to although it's close enough that I may do a day trip.

I owned a Custom long before a CE, but since I bought my first CE in`90 I've been a huge fan. It had that certain something the Custom didn't, maybe it was a little more sparkle in the upper mids and top end that I really liked. Whatever it is, it's a formula that works for me. I do limit my love to the alder and alder/maple guitars as the mahogany CEs do not appeal to me. I understand all the reasons for switching to mahogany I just don't like what it did for the model. Yes I love the lowly CE, what a great guitar and I'm amazed there are still people that are snobs when it comes to any guitar without a set neck, I just don't understand it.

After reading that thread of yours I can see Sergio that you are a man after my own heart. Alder CEs just rock! Ironically though the CE I'm currently playing the most is a hog body with a cedar top, so I guess I should be practicing what I preach. :big grin: I'm having so much fun with this guitar (with its Ed King pup arrangement, trem uprouting, and exotic wood) that it's hard to put it down.

The other PRS I have been cheating with doesn't have the same pedigree as yours does, it's all good!

Conifer Bliss.....here's a pic of my `91 CE-24 employees guitar (cedar) next to a `91 Custom 24 (redwood). These guitars are incredibly resonant and are acoustically the loudest among all of my guitars. I love the tones of both of these guitars, the CE-24 still has more twang and excels on single coil sounds while the Custom is a great mix of humbucker grind and growl. The picture doesn't do justice to either one of these guitars, the tops are beautiful!

I was just looking on ebay for my next (and probably last) CE and was disappointed by what I couldn't find. I had to revisit your post to find a little visual reaffirmation not to settle, great looking guitars CE-man!
