I have new car fever. I can't buy any more guitars so I guess my GAS is turning back to cars, my 1st love.
Much like guitars, the coolest old cars are too expensive for my income. But if money were no object? Man...
What's your ULTIMATE, no holds-barred, money-no-object, Dream Car?
Here's mine. A 1925 Bugatti Type 35B or a Type 39.

I'll turn fifty in a few days, and sad to say I've never had a new car. It just never happened for one reason or another.
If I could go buy a new vehicle now, it would probably be some type of Dodge pickup. Club cab (some call it a cab-and-a-half), or maybe a four door; full size bed; maybe even a dualie; NO diesel!; NO camper/topper etc., but a nice lockable hard cover for the bed. No redneck lift kit, no gigantic 'Look at me! Mine's bigger than yours!' wheels, extra loud tailpipes, or any of that other silliness... Just a good, depenbable, nice, daily driver. Why the lockable bed cover? Hey, if I can afford a new pickup, then I can afford a flock of new guitars and amps to haul with it, and I gotta keep 'em safe!

As for other cars I'd like to own, do a search for 'Don Garlits'. Check out Swamp Rat #34. That'd suit me fine. In fact, any Swamp Rat from #14 to #34 would be great, but #34 is the pinnacle as far as I'm concerned. From the best drag racer ever in my opinion, and one whose ideas are still being copied today, the latest being enclosed cockpits for top fuelers. Supposedly a new invention, he perfected the concept and began using it over twenty-seven years ago.

That's a cool Ferrari Shawn. I got to see one in person a few years back (2002 or 2003).
Some fat cat had his collection on display near Richmond. He had a neat old Alfa Romeo too. Here are the pics I kept.

Very tasty!
I don't know much about Ferrari street cars, (other than I'd love to have one), but I'm a big F1 fan, and several of my favorite drivers have been behind the wheels of Ferraris. Niki Lauda was/is my all time, followed by Michael. I was also into Nigel Mansell.
Sammy Hagar is a big car guy as you probably know, and in his book "Red" he talks about a Ferrari the factory made for him with some personal touches.
Is there any way you could post a few more pictures of that guitar?

Here are a few toys I made for my son, some of them are modeled after vintage cars.

Back L-R Jaguar racer in British Racing Green, generic racer in yellow, 1925 Bugatti (Hans' favorite), modern-style F1 racer

I've seen a picture or two somewhere, but I haven't seen any in person. One thing I think lots of these designers forget about (or choose to ignore?) is parking these monsters. I don't want a vehicle that I have to park at the outer edges of the lot then hike half a mile to get into the store. And forget about the gas mileage!
I guess I'll stick with my '87 Dodge a while longer. It'll most likely outlast me anyway if the docs know what they're talking about...

You're absolutely right Shawn. It wasn't long ago that my main cardio guy had 'the talk' with me, and I'm still here. I fooled them once, and I might do it again.
I told him then that I had places to go, music to hear, music to make, and I didn't plan on leaving anytime soon. He had this little amused look on his face, and he said 'you think your love of music can make a difference in this situation?'. I told him I knew it could, that it already had.
All of us love music in one way or another, or else we wouldn't be on this board.
Thanks again Shawn. Lloyd

I'd like a '64 with a split rear window.
1963 is the year of the split window coupe

Any car, spray painted by me and Sergio (but I'm thinking Bentley, to be at least half as classy as Sergio's guitar).

Looks almost exactly like the one I managed to crash into my garage door in the 80s....

I'd love to get a '68 Firebird and hand it over to Chip Foose and tell him to go nuts.

I had a '68 Firebird 400...in '68. Good in a straight line, not so much on the turns....solid rear axle, not much on-center feel on the wheel. Lots of axle-hop. Typical of Detroit iron back in the day.
Good looking, though. I really need to dig out some old pics of the cars I had...some were pretty cool!

That's why I'd give it to Chip Foose. Modern suspension, brakes and tires would go a long way.
Cool that you had one. 68 is my favorite year for the Firebird. I've wanted one since I was a teen.

Toyota Hiace Van. Available worldwide, except the United states.
In my touring days, I had an Astro Van, and while it was a nice compromise between a daily driver and a touring vehicle for the band, it was also a giant piece of $hit. I will never, ever under any circumstances, own another General Motors product.
Now, if I could combine a body and hauling capacity similar to an Astro with a diesel for fuel economy and Toyota reliability? I'd have a Hiace.

Not to burst any bubbles, but it's actually a C2S, not a twin turbo (but still a wide body). I wanted to get used to a normally aspirated tail-pusher before jumping into the realm of insanity. Call it my "trainer Porsche". :p
