I see you use a Laney Ironheart. Played though one the other week - Actually asked to use a Lionheart to test my new guitar but he misheard. Good amp though.

OK, just one more of my own tunes...

This was the first tune that I composed and recorded myself for a guitar comp. I didn't have a decent recording setup at the time and was just testing the water but it came out ok. The backing track is a little cheesy sounding as I only had a cheap Yamaha keyboard at the time to compose the backing track with. It was the only way I could get drums and bass recorded. Thankfully, i've moved on since then! :) Oh, didn't even make it into the top 100 in the comp, but that's ok... It got me into recording!

The iron hearts are mega amps and are extremely versatile and I'm not just saying that because I have to either :-)

Thanks Boogie123 that helps a lot. I just asked because we thought months about it and it's quite hard to find a good name that doesn't sound odd for a native speaker as well.
Cool, that you've already spent some time in Germany - many Germans want to live in the great US instead, guess it's kind of "you always want what you can't have"...but that's way to philosophical for this thread :)

Lizzy are about to wrap things up I believe...Rick Warwick who sings for them now has done an excellent job...seen them in Belfast a couple of years ago and they really did the business...I'm fairly sure the next few months will be the last, sadly.

Mike..they have a festival in Ballyshannon, Donegal each June with some really good tribute acts and past members of Rory's band..the festival is called "Going To My Home Town" its become a big attraction in the last few years
I was lucky to see Rory at the christmas concerts in the Ulster Hall, Belfast in the early 80's...due to the troubles here no one else would come but Rory played every year...he was incredible live!!!

I haven't plugged in a guitar in front of you guys ('xcept Steve and Dane once if they noticed), but...

I had a cover band several years ago. Three engineers, one computer scientist, and nobody told me there was a video camera in the back of the room! I flub some high notes and lead the other guys astray right at the end, but I think there are some good things happening here:

Thanks! It was definitely a Good Sound Day. Perhaps the only time I've had a monitor mix where I could really hear my vocals and work the mic instead of just eating it and screaming... That was a good bunch of guys in terms of not having volume wars. We picked up a bass player later on who could not be tamed. It eventually drove me out of the band...

I haven't plugged in a guitar in front of you guys ('xcept Steve and Dane once if they noticed), but...

I had a cover band several years ago. Three engineers, one computer scientist, and nobody told me there was a video camera in the back of the room! I flub some high notes and lead the other guys astray right at the end, but I think there are some good things happening here:

http://youtu.be/niDS572Jj2sThat's damn good stuff there Dave. I'm very impressed. Nice vocals too.

Mike Garvey, thanks a million for this thread as I am a novice. The clip of you playing the BM made my day as I haveone. Some people think that it is of the same calibre as a Fender Squire till they hear it.. Student does not have a bad connotation when talking about PRS guitars.. Anyway thanks to all that posted.. Hey guys. We are a young, female-fronted blues act from Ireland called Kick The Bucket Blues Band. http://www.facebook.com/kickthebucketband

We are currently writing our debut album. However, we've already recorded 11 live music videos in the recording studio, Outland Studios. http://www.facebook.com/outlandstudios

Here is the 1st of 11 music videos we've released recently. If you liked what you hear; for more music videos, including several still to be uploaded, please visit our Facebook Page.

For PRS fans - my guitar is a PRS Swamp Ash Special, 25TH Anniversary model in Sapphire Smokeburst with gold hardware. I'm running it through an Orange Dual Terror with a full cryo Harma re-valve. My pedal board is modest: Keeley 4-knob compressor, EHX Nanoverb, CAE 404 Custom Wah, Boss Volume Pedal, Red Witch Medusa Chorus, TC Polytuner.

Hope you like,
Steve.

I play in a metal band named Saille, we have 2 albums so far, on the first (irreversible decay) the lead guitars were recorded with a PRS custom AP (whale blue). On the 2nd album (Ritu)all guitar parts recorded are PRS guitars (leads: same custom and the rythm: singlecut pre-lawsuit whale blue)

Our new videoclip is the first song "blood libel" from our 2nd album (Ritu). You see other guitars used for the clip but you hear both PRS guitars as said above. Please have a look and maybe you'll enjoy:

Hey everyone, my band has finally posted some demos, we're brand spanking new and trying to get some local gigs to build up our stage experience resume. We live in a smaller college town with somewhat clique-ish bars and unless you have a measurable following, it's hard to get booked at places.

So, I am shamelessly asking my fellow forum members here for a favor. If you have a few minutes to spare, give our songs a listen and if you're so inclined, give our facebook page a 'like.' It would be a huge help and greatly appreciated!

Figure this thread was a good place to start for a newbie... Hopefully! The first video is my bands video for our first release. The second is me hammering out a solo on my PRS. God I love that thing...

Hey guys
I'm currently using a Mccarty and a Mira with my band Ragdoll. Here's the first single off our new record, featuring the Mira. The Mira and the McCarty were used for most of the tones on the song!

An instrumental tune I recorded using my 305. The rotary effect guitar is a Hamer. The delay clean guitar and lead guitar are the 305.
The tune has elements of Pink Floyd, Lanterna and Cocteau Twins in it.

Ray, great playing!
Your singer has a great voice too.

I really enjoyed Revenge.
I listen to Pandora Radio a lot, and one of my stations I set up is called Lacuna Coil, and yours guy's songs sound like they would fall under the type of songs I hear on that channel.
Again, fantastic music!

Here's the link to my one man band w/drum machine, recorded direct. All clams, bad intonation, poor tone/riff choices, lousy mixing and just plain bad judgment/what was he thinking, is all on me~! None are longer than ~2 minutes. Some, but not all, feature my Custom 24.

Thanks for listening~!

Here's an old song of ours from practice last week.

This song I use the neck pickup, which in this case is the 59/09 I swapped in recently to replace the DGT. I still have a VB from Gush I have yet to have a chance to try.

I just got done mixing a remake of a song that a friend and I wrote in 2005. I redid most of the guitar parts when remaking the song, and this time around, I used my PRS 25th Anniversary McCarty Narrow Field for the clean guitars in the instrumental intro and the verses. I used my sunburst 305 for the solo and fills.
The lead guitar in the intro and the crunch guitar in the choruses was a Hamer Studio with Duncan Pearly Gates pickups.
The song is an obvious nod to Pink Floyd, who have been a favorite band of my co-writing friend and I since the 70's when we were kids. We wanted to find out if we could write a Floyd tune. I did sneak a few original ideas and licks in. The McCarty Narrow Field playing the melody in the intro actually sounds a bit like Andy Summers to me.
The pad/washes that play thoughout the intro/outro, and behind the chords during the verses are the McCarty Narrow Field as well, but I pitch shifted it up an octave and sent it through a reverb, but muted the dry guitar signal so you only hear the reverb.
Endings 2014 remake (https://soundcloud.com/sleep-distance/endings-2014)
