I dream in Paisley.........

So.... I literally had a dream about building a Private Stock guitar last year. I even spoke with the PS boys at the EXP about it. They were all scratching their heads. Why? Because I wanted a Paisley covered guitar. The actual cloth they use on the amps. I didn't want any clear coat on it. Nuthin'! If it gets dirty or sweaty, so be it. I wanted amp knobs on it. I had a ton of ideas. So, we talked & I talked to Morgan Guitars & he talked to PRS & everybody was still scratching their heads. Wondering if the tone would suffer. Will it get dirty. Stuff like that.
So, I thought I'd take down a notch & try it on an SE. So I got in touch with Shawn & he was down with it from the get-go. I was gonna keep it a secret so I would have the 1st PS Paisley, but because of my current situation I don't see a PS in my immediate future. So here's my idea made possible by the boys in the PTC. Thanks to Shawn & 'da boys!!

It started life as a standard SE 245.

Scott spend a lot of time making sure the fabric laid on the surface without any wrinkles or creases. He also made sure the fuzzy edges didn't fray.

We toyed with different hardware and knob options

Any vacuum will do, but the brush must have bristles made of the finest Russian sable

Thanks again guys for all the kind words. And thanks again to the guys @ the PTC. This guitar REALLY went from a dream to a reality. It came out far better than I could've imagined. "The Paisley" should be arriving today and I can hardly wait. There will be a video or two up in a few days.

1st impressions....AWESOME!!! Big chunky feel & tones. The guitar resonates very well. I get good vibration at the headstock with each open string. I'm sure the anodized brass studs have something to do with that. Thanks Shawn. Good call! I shot about 10 minutes as soon as I got home. I also got a new Tonal Insanity pedal in the mail so it gave me a chance to demo both. The new pedal is awesome too! Anyway, the Paisley sounded and played great, but y'all know me......I can't leave anything alone. SO.... I swapped the pickups with a set of PRS #6's and added some Phase II tuna's. Oh yea, I also added a Volume/Treble Bleed kit. So I put on a set of PRS 11's to get some manly sized strings on there & WHOA!!!! I went head-to-head with Riza & Paisley held his own. I may still fool around with pickups a bit. I have a set of 57/08's and they may end up in there. But right now, all I can say is, in my opinion, I have a seriously BAD-ASS SE. Looks cool & sounds great. The video will be up in a few hours. It's finalizing right now. Will post as soon as its done.
