Do you have a favorite prison movie?
I have two: "Cool Hand Luke", and "Shawshank Redemption" (or its title as originally written, "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption").
Why do guys seem to like prison movies more than women do?

Can't disagree with those two choices: "No failure to communicate." Shawshank is one of the greatest movies, period.
My guess is it's because women don't have a prostate.
Shawshank Redemption is my favorite prison movie but I also like Brubaker and The Last Castle which just coincidentally both have Robert Redford in them.
Both are amazing movies. Cool Hand Luke is on my all-time top 10 list.
Shawshank ... yup ...
I lean toward Frank Zappa's "Joe's Garage"
Then maybe "Midnight Express"
If prison camp movies are included, "The Great Escape" was always a favorite.
Yup. Cool hand luke, shawshank, brubaker and one with tom selec innocent man i think its called.
My brothers exwife has a prostate and she doesnt like prison movies. Oh and one more prison movie "my brothers previous marriage".
Forgot about "O Brother Where Art Thou?"
Shawshank! One of my faves, prison or no.
Bad Boys
Because of the soda cans in the pillow case beat down.
Shawshank, without a doubt.
Both were great, and I'll add 'Runaway Train' to the mix. A visceral and grizzly account, and both Voight and Roberts gave tour de force performances. I think Voight actually won 'Best Actor' for his role that year. It's a lesser known movie within that genre, but one I'd highly recommend if you haven't seen it yet.
Brubaker, Green Mile and the Longest Yard... But there was always "The Women of Cell Block D" (1972). Glad no one like Papillion or Midnight Express...the bathing scenes and whe that guy puts a flower in his mouth...uhh I have to upchuck.
-Papillon and Shawshank Redemption. I liked the Green Mile, as well.
Shawshank shows what a great and versatile writer Stephen King is.
