Well, it wasn't so much about stats - I had no reason to root for either team, honestly. So here's the super bowl, another year the Lions don't even get into the playoffs, let alone the big game, and I have no team to root for.

But I like football, and I want to be interested in games like this, so I look for a reason to root for someone - anyone!

In this case it was a Michigan alum.

I'm a Michigan alum, so I picked the Niners. But honestly, I didn't really care much about the outcome. Hans seemed to want some trash talk, so I posted the stats. You do have to admit that Jim Harbaugh has done an impressive job taking a 6-10 team to the NFC championship in his first year, and super bowl in the second year. And they came awfully close to a win.

Then again, close only counts in horseshoes. ;)

Well.. I watched most of it. Pretty enjoyable but didn't really dig the half time show. Would possibly enjoy it more if I watched more games leading upto it and understood the rules better.

I wonder if any of you guys would like Rugby League or Rugby Union? A lot of differences but perhaps enough similarities that you'd enjoy it...

I think pretty much any kind of nuclear explosion would do...in the 50s they had cannons to fire nuclear tipped weapons! I wonder if those are still in the arsenal of scary stuff you hope they never use....
