Happy Tuesday! And a special Happy Birthday to Willie Nelson, who turns 80 years old today. Bless You, Willie! Thank you for all of the music you've given to us. You are one of my heroes.
I'm posting this for Willie Nelson. Django is his favorite guitar player. I know Willie likes to keep things mellow, but I don't know if that's possible when listening to this.
Mr. Bernie Marsden!
This is for Barry Fey. He and his company were responsible for putting together so many incredible shows over the years. Personally, I came to believe that if an upcomming show had 'Feyline Productions' (or one of his other corporate names) attached to it then chances are it would be a fantastic and well-run event. If you are interested in the music world, and what goes on behind the scenes, then I suggest you read his book "Backstage Past".
I'm grateful to Barry Fey. May he RIP.
FRIDAY in The USA! I for one am glad to see this week - as well as the entire month of April - finish up. Here's hoping that we all have a good, smooth patch for a long while now.
I Feel Good/Do You Love Me?
Lloyd/Goldtop/Proud Texan (like Mr. George Jones was)
Happy Birthday to Robert Johnson, who was (supposedly) born on this date in 1911. This is one of my favorites of his. There's nothing like a good love song...
Happy Birthday to Toni Tennille!
Today is Billy Joel's birthday, so Happy Birthday to him! This is one of my favorite songs from Billy. One of my favorite videos too, although there are some good and bad points about it.
Good Point No. 1 - He's 'playing' a fine Goldtop Deluxe (?) in this.
Good Point No. 2 - There are a couple of girls in the crowd who do this shoulder shoulder hunching thing (one of 'em is at about the 1:55 mark). I don't know why, but I dig that.
Bad Point No. 1 - Billy breaks my Number One "Rule for The Making of Music Videos", which is to never, never, NEVER, EVER have your significant other in your video. NEVER! When it all goes South, and the odds are overwhelming that it will, then you're stuck with them in your video. A constant reminder of 'the days when things were okay...' is not a good thing. Plus, it's not The Rock and Roll Way. Follow the rules, Billy! Listen to KISS, man! Love 'em, Leave 'em, Give 'em cab fare!
More Billy. Again, he's breaking my Number One Rule in this. But in all fairness, I gotta give him a pass because he may not even be aware of said rules since we've never met. (Besides, I imagine his wallet has provided him a more profound teaching example of The Rule than I could have with my gibberish.)
Starting my day with a little pop. It's Friday here in the USA so my musical tastes are bound to get a bit louder and stronger as the day progresses, but this is how it's all beginning. I wish you all a good day today and a great weekend!
This is dedicated to my stalker. Yes, I have a stalker. It might be (slightly) funny if this person wasn't such a problem. A very odd situation; more on it later.
