I have all adjustable stoptails on my PRS. I love them for the ability to set intonation with varying tunings.
May not be nessessary, but I like that I can make the choice.

I'd shoot the PTC an e-mail. IIRC they can convert the guitar from stoptail to trem for you.

I voted 2-3 amps. Currently I own three, but really, two do not count as they are Bass amps ;). The guitar amp is an older modeling amp, so I hope later this year to be purchasing a good tube amp.

5 string bases are typically tuned BEADG. You have to think of the 5 string more like a 7 string guitar with an added lower B.
Standard tuning or half step down - 4 string
Dropped tunings - 5 string
