The DC3 pickups yield really good single coil sounds. Maybe very slightly warmer and less ice-picky than your average Strat pickup. At the 2010 PRS Experience, Paul did a side by side comparison...

I also tried both and bought the DC3. It's got the single coil sparkle which the NF3 doesn't.

I wouldn't obsess too much about cosmetic damage. However, I would consider sending to the PTC for a tuner upgrade. Well worth the cost IMHO. Cool guitar by the way!
  6. Question for those who attended the EXP: Any love for the DC3?

As I browsed through various pics, I thought I spotted a photo of PRSh playing a DC3. Any news to report or any love shown for the humble DC3 at the EXP? Are the NF3 and DC3 still remaining in the...

This run of WL guitars is terrific. I bought this guitar's twin (in Whale Blue) and the korina/ebony combo is killer. James and the Seattle Guitar Store did a great job in spec'ing these DGTs. ...

I like the Analogman Chorus. It's been on my board for a long time now. Sounds great both clean and distorted. Plus there are lots of options when you order so you can readily customize to meet...

Original question was directed toward PS and Artist pkg. type guitars. I agree about gigging with a PRS and usually always bring my trusty Custom 24.

But after seeing that picture of Markie...
  12. So... do you take your high-end PRS out to a gig?

For those of you gigging, do you take your high end PRS guitars out to the job? By high-end, I mean private stock, special editions, artist package, etc. I am perfectly comfortable taking out my...

Calling Morrissey pompous may be a bit of an understatement. ;)

    Johnny Marr

Anybody else catch Johnny Marr on his current tour? I saw him last night in Chicago... a really great show and a nice tight band. The set list was mostly stuff off his new album, but also included...

Hey Rob, that is one sweet guitar. Not to derail the thread, but I am the happy owner of your guitar's twin: same color, maple neck, cocobolo, 59/09s. I don't think they made too many like this....

    The DC3: Most underrated PRS?

I say yes. I know... some might say it's just a strat rip-off. Or that it doesn't have a fancy top. Or that the pickups look weird.

I don't care. It's still a great guitar and very...
