You done good. Reeeeeaaaallll good!
Damn that's nice Pete! It looks Private Stock-ish. I love Santana's. Your first one? On second thought, strike that question. I know better.....
And although I didn't spec mine that day, I got to live the experience vicariously through Pete, and it indeed was a great time for all! What Pete isn't telling you about that evening at Paul's...
Well it certainly ain't what it used to be.....
The only reason I remember that one is that a friend from Annapolis, knowing of my then fledgling interest in guitars, saved that article to show...
That was awesome. I remember that well....man time flies!
Great post!
Many love them for the reason you mentioned....they're like warmed up PAF's, the 59/09 being the hotter of the two in the bridge at least. I'm one of the seeming few that never heard their magic...
Insane beautiful. 53/10's are my favorite PRS pickups.
Nothing looks cooler than a Starla with a Bigsby. Be sure to let us know how you like it!
Thanks Shawn.
Was it done more to refresh a worn finish, or primarily to change the color?
Anyone ever send their Private Stock piece to the PTC for a refinish/color change?
Just curious.
Such a great, fun guitar, and the pickups are amazing. I love the cool uber-retro looks. Bigsby?
Not that I visit many forums, although I am a member of a few, but this is about as lucid and level headed a membership as I've ever experienced. I always think of it as the 'kinder, gentler' forum....
Great idea, especially considering that ATL is a MD. band.
D'oh! That damn impulsive nature of mine!!
Hope they resume making them though!
You didn't even list the best of all, 53/10's!
Absolutely. Honesty, humor, and humility in one simple phrase!
Then you're EXACTLY the kind of member we're looking for! Consider yourself a charter member.
Who's next?!!
I'm thinking of starting a group for people who can't take the time or effort to participate in one. It'll be perfect for guys like me.......you'll be a member, but without the responsibilities of...
^^^^^^Good one Hans! Certainly answers a lot of questions for me. The only issue I have is that it had created a bit of GAS for BOTH of them! So, um, thanks.......I suppose.
Technically, it was highly enriched unobtanium.
I'd actually like to know as well. They're my favorite PRS pickups.
Mine was skiing in Steamboat about 18 years ago. It was clear and sunny in the AM, but by 11 or so a thick, snowy front engulfed the mountain and stayed the rest of the day. The powder depth was...
Not sure of the exact nature of an Archtop 'IV', but I recently purchased a mint Archtop Jazz (spruce top, mahogany back/sides, Archtop pups, piezo) for $2700.
It sounds soooo good.
Just a thought.....
Although you say you don't use the trem, Bigsby's stay put like few others when you're not using them. They're nearly as stable as a hard tail, unless of course you hit the...
Doesn't bug me at all........unless it happens in the first 10 minutes of ownership, as with the &#%!@!!! dent I put on my latest R9 headstock almost immediately after pulling it out of its case for...
