This is exactly how I feel about my CE24 as well.
Look here for some info about the model history & specs: http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/models.html. I'm sure others on the forum can give you all the details about the specs not mentioned on that...
I've owned an NF3 for a few weeks now and I think justmund sums it up very well. You aren't going to naturally get LP tones from an NF3. However, a lot really depends on what you're playing thru....
I'm curious to hear what the OP thought as well. I saw them Tues in Baltimore and the show was great. They swapped a few songs in/out from the show I saw in September. I've seen them almost 10 times...
I looked at that one too and tried to come up with a reason to buy it. Nothing has come to mind yet...
Enjoy! I saw them earlier on this tour in September and it was a great show. I'm probably going to see them on Tuesday in Baltimore. I wasn't planning on going, but like you I lucked into some good...
Just an update - I got this to work. It took me a couple of hours, but it was well worth it. See the thread referenced in post #6 above for all the details. Thanks everyone!
Thanks, Bret! The CEs are great & I love 'em. The purple one may be on it's way out, though, since I just had a NGD (Seafoam Green NF3) and I don't think I'll be able to keep all 3.
I've had the DGTs wired up to the 5-way for a couple of weeks now and I'm getting all 5 sounds that I expect. Which is nice :).
Thanks, and yes it does make sense. I was originally thinking along the same lines. The push/pull pot I ordered just arrived a couple of days ago, so I'll probably start experimenting this weekend. ...
Thanks! I think you are on the right track as far as getting an aftermarket switch. I posted my question on another forum and got a helpful response (here). You may want to follow along with that...
Thanks, but that's not quite correct. Here is how I believe they are wired:
Position 10: Bridge pickup alone - full humbucker
Position 9: Outside coils of both pickups in parallel
Position 8:...
Both of my guitars are CE24s. One has a 5-way rotary and the other has a 3-way toggle with a push/pull tone knob for splitting the coils. I guess I'm in the minority in that I prefer the ergonomics...
Maybe try lowering the pickup?
Nice guitar! I had a purple CE22 and replaced it with a purple CE24. Yours looks great.
You may want to try lowering the bridge pickup to see if it makes it sound less trebly. If you do decide...
Based on this: http://www.prsguitars.com/csc/year.html, it sounds like you have a 1992, if I am understanding correctly. The "2" stands for either 1992 or 2002. And the "75464" falls within the...
