The cross-grain on that top is the best part.
Here is how that guitar turned out:

And if they're not, what will you do?
Depends.
Yeah, for a PS, it's kind of understated. It floors everybody. It's a killer. Sounds and plays great too.
My playing skills. I already played this guitar out in a bar. The guy hosting the open mic says 'wow that was a lotta money right, like 3 grand?' I replied 'yeah, something like that.'
Thanks Jamie. I like it. My first PS was #176. It's amazing to me they have built so many of these, and they are all so beautiful and unique.
Stock DGT except: cocobolo fretboard and headstock verneer, Artist style birds, bird on neck heel, hybrid (gold/silver) hardware. PRS matched a color sample I sent them. Target weight 8lbs or...
This is the guitar that was hanging in the Private Stock Friday thread a couple of weeks back. Very pleased.

Guitars are fun, even waiting for one you are anticipating. No anxiety. Nice to see the pics and to know it's coming. I didn't expect it before April/May.
I did receive confirmation today that the guitar above is indeed my PS DGT. Very excited. Thanks to the OP for the pix and woundtight for alerting me to this.
Yeah, it will look nice on the new guitar too. Oh well. Can't get too upset about that PS from 13 years ago when this one is coming soon : ).

Sorry, the new Photobucket interface blows pretty hard. PS 176 Take Two:

I'm getting the same bird on the heel on the DGT. I like that touch.
I hear you JM. It was a looker, but I wasn't playing it enough to justify tying up the $8K, which I paid for it, and I also managed to get on resale, so I never lost any money on the guitar. I am...
Here's that guitar.

No, more monochromatic on PS 176. If you note the finish on that DGT is more dramatic, more contrasty.
Actually what I'm saying that is probably IS my guitar, I keep hearing that it's more like 3 months than the 4+ they quote you, which makes sense. 3 months for me would about February 20th (I...
Yeah, the PS program is not that old, that was a Pcad brain fart. I owned PS#176, c.2000 (sold it after about 2 years), and the program was maybe 2-3 years old at that point.
I suppose the odds...
I'd agree.
I just hope somebody (Shawn) can take a peek at that guitar's neck heel today and tell me if there is a bird inlay or not so I can know if that is indeed the guitar I ordered back in...
I must say the photos of the guitars in this thread are an amazing testament to PRS, they really have elevated the fine art of guitar making to a new level of wonder over the past 20+ years since...
I hope that's the guitar. If so, yeah, they nailed it. Can't wait. Maybe Shawn can take a peek at the neck heel next week and let me know if it matches my description, if there's a bird on the...
If that is my guitar, that looks just about finished. Wouldn't they be shipping that in the next week or two?
Well, here are the jpgs we forwarded Tina for the color and wood grain desired:

Maybe Shawn could comment on whether that dark cherryburst DGT above (just underneath the 'Oh My' comment) has a bird on the neck heel, if so, that would probably have to be my guitar. Looks exactly...
