I'll chime in here too.
I have that same bridge on my Bernie. It's ok. The saddles slots needed to be cut a bit deeper on mine. Bending the B and high E would pop the strings out of their slots....

Not a big fan of blue guitars but that one looks perfect. I'd rock that one proudly.
Congrats!! She is gorgeous! CE24's are one of the finest PRS's IMO.
I had a '94 that looked exactly like it and I still miss that one.
It looks like it's in perfect shape too.
It's possible. It's not easy unless you are good with tools (routers, drills, etc.) You will still have to measure everything out to be sure that the neck angle (if it's a set neck guitar) will allow...
I think the current line up is pretty good but they need more finish options. There should be a lot more colors to choose from on each model so they don't all look alike.
We also need an SE...
Very interesting thread.
I'll go with:
USA Tremonti II body
24.5" scale
24 fret Pattern regular neck
Ebony fingerboard with the new birds
DGT frets
Dragon I pups with brushed nickel covers
I've had 5 SE's and all of them had nut issues. The slots were not deep enough (strings much too high at the first fret) and the slots were all very tight and the strings would get caught in them....
Send Tone Pros an email.
I got the same bridge on a Bernie Marsden SE I bought and the seller did not send the adjusting wrench. I emailed Tone Pros and they sent one to me for free right away....
+2
I was gonna say the same thing.
Change the nut, save money on the tuners. The stockers are fine.
The black Tusq nuts are great. That's what I would go with.
I'd buy a goldtop SE245 right now.
I emailed the PTC for a quote to refinish my black CE24 as a goldtop and it was a little more than I want to spend. I know they would do a fabulous job but it...
As I understand it, CE's went to the mahogany/maple combo in 1995.
From the PRS site:
"CLASSIC ELECTRIC (CE BOLT-ON): 1988 - Current. 24-fret maple neck, unfaced headstock, dot inlays, alder body,...
I bought my 95 CE24 (black) for $800 also and it was worth every penny plus more.
CE's are monster guitars. They play great, sound great, are very comfy, and extremely versatile.
Jump on it. At...
Perfect!
Thank you! I never could tell if it was recessed under the leading edge of the bridge and now I know that it isn't.
Now to make a template and fire up the router.
It's probably that https thing.
Nice!
Would it be possible for you to post a close up pic of the tremolo uprout?
I'm going to do that to my CE24 and would love to see what PRS does in detail.
No problem.
I had an old Santana SE that I gave the full USA treatment to.
Here it is with Phase II tuners:

I had a really nice alder CE24. One of the many I wish I could get back.

Yep. That's the exact same one I put on my Bernie. It was a perfect fit for width and the slots were dead on for 10-46 strings. All you have to do is sand down the bottom to get the height correct....
I'm in.
Love the Floyd.
The PRS trem is really, really good but Floyds are just bulletproof.
Honestly, a Floyd is much easier to setup and maintain.
Eventually, I'll put a Graph Tech piezo Floyd on my...
I don't think the Royal Blue ones have the scraped binding.
...
Check that all 6 of bridge pivot screws are adjusted properly. They have to all be at the exact same height so the bridge travels freely. Set the bridge so it floats evenly at 1/16" off the body....
I appreciate the offer but that's ok. I'll be ordering up some other parts soon and I'll pick one up then. It's no big deal.
The Graph Tech Tusq nut I got for this one was perfect width. It was...
