    2012 USA Tremonti's Neck

    Hey guys,

I just finally got my hands on a 2012 Tremonti Signature yesterday, and I've been celebrating. It's my first USA made guitar and my first high-end guitar. For the past year and a half I've been playing the Tremonti SE Custom. It's an awesome guitar. There's a lot to love about it. But after playing my new USA model yesterday, I quickly noticed that the neck shapes feel vastly different. The USA's neck feels a lot thicker to me. I was expecting the necks to be pretty similar, if not identical. Is there really that big of a difference between Wide Thin and Pattern Thin? And does anybody know, does Mark actually play a Pattern Thin neck on his guitars?

    Thanks

And happy to finally be a proud owner of a Maryland-made PRS!!

I wouldn't say they are vastly different. Now going from my Tremonti to my CU22, I would definitely use the term vastly.

Nice pickup! Welcome to Club Tremonti!

I think the slightly rounded shoulders on the pattern thin make it a bit more comfortable, and it may make it feel like the neck's a little thicker because it doesn't feel like you have to reach as far, so the thinness isn't emphasized. Or I could just be talking gibberish. But I don't notice the initial fatigue w/the Tremonti that I do w/my CU24, which is wide thin.

That makes sense to me. After playing it for a couple days now, the comfort has really shown up. It feels awesome to play now. I'm loving it.

    And thanks guys!

I have a Tremonti SE Custom and 2 USA Tremonti's The SE neck is way thinner than the USA, maybe because its maple? I like them both but am more comfy on the USA necks
