I was lookin' at the old crackle finishes last night.... I think it's a process you could tackle pretty successfully given how talented you are.

Thanks for the props and the suggestion, man.

My plans for this one are kind of simple:
    1) Source a hot, narrow 408 with a black pup ring
    2) Put the guitar out in direct sunlight for a month (per side) in order to fade the finish as much as I can
    3) Sand it with 1500-2000 grit to dull the finish
    4) Put a faux tortoise pick-guard on it
    5) Install a 500k RS Guitarworks Superpot, push/pull tone pot, and a PIL filter cap
    6) Replace the studs and bridge with a US bridge
    7) Locking tuners

You're gonna get a ton of crap if you mod a puppy, though.

Ok, boys. I spoke with Skitchy and Matt. This one's headed to the PTC for some sweet action.

Here's the final plan. This is going to be a ZERO-BULLSH!T guitar; tricked out for some serious rock-n-roll. Code name... ZB-One.
    1) Narrow 408 with a black pup ring
    2) Fade guitar in direct sunlight for a few months
    3) Sand with 1500-2000 grit to dull the finish and improve neck feel
    4) Put a faux tortoise pick-guard on it
    5) Install a 500k RS Guitarworks Superpot, push/pull tone pot, and a PIL filter cap
    6) Replace studs and bridge with a US bridge
    7) Phase 3 (locking) tuners

At 11PM last night I went out for a gallon of milk. At 11:20PM I was fogging up the glass at my local dealership. They have a 2014 GT3 sitting in the showroom. I am thankful it's not Rhodium Silver because I'd be in big trouble.
