I think "Max" is an actor. I've only ever known one guitar collector that is this much of an overplayed caricature of the "Type A" guitar guy.

One Life
Shades of TGP
Be.
Do.
Have.
Based on the editing alone, it's clear to me that we're looking at a "reality" script here. That's how I see it, anyway.
"To be creative and spontaneous, you have to live with imperfection." ~ John Abercrombie
Come on, if he "buys and sells guitars for a living" he should have known that it was refretted. I smell "Scripted reality" here.
All reality shows are scripted...
gag.
Of course they would not dream of doing the obvious - contacting Gibson with a serial number to try to track the original specs of the guitar and it's original sale.....
Thbbbbbt...
Seems pretty fake to me.
Plank Owner
Guitars - PRS

Just look at the binding job in the second freeze frame youtube photo... I ain't saying nothin' but it was well known that Les liked seconds.
So what's the verdict? And, even if it had been owned by Les....where is the value? Seems like a nice Gibson LP custom that may have been owned by Les...but, without direct provenance and paperwork supporting his ownership...it would appear to have the value of a production model.
And....that whole issue of the refret....makes me think that the entire guitar was refinished...it's too clean and "minty" for it to have been used to the extent that a re-fret would have been required.

Frets, shmets.
You guys realize that guitars previously owned by anyone named Les are priceless, right?
Because they're just not making any new Lesses...
So if anyone wants to make a great investment at an inflated price, I do have my receipts with my name on them and stuff!
Plus, you know, bragging rights:
You: (in hushed, reverent tones) "This is the very guitar that Les used on the famous Ford campaign, not to mention a Chevy ad."
Your guest: "So effing what? No one cares about ad music."
You: "But his name is Les."
Your guest: "Oh, well, that's different. I guess I didn't hear that the first time. If you ever want to sell it, I'll pay you $200,000 for it."
You: "You have to be joking. It was owned by Les. It's probably more valuable than Clapton's Blackie."
Your guest: "Would you take One Million Dollars for it?"
You: "I think you'd have to come up a little."
