So I was talking to Rick H. today about maple binding. He is applying binding to this headstock and he was telling me how matching the color of the maple is crucial.
The headstock in question
Notice the piece of maple on the left is much redder than the piece on the right.
Interesting insight. I still remember watching the YouTube video of him doing binding. Awesome stuff.

There's some Charcoal Cherry Burst action going on this week. Very nice.
That fretboard is insane. So are the rear body shots.
As usual awesome pics there Shawn. Love the killer grain shot.
I am not a luthier but i am in my own workshop.
For me one of the best things about this thread is just when I think I've seen it all another round of Shawn's pics comes and again I am blown away by what can be done in the great state of Maryland. Thanks for the inspiration and I can't wait to see the number 4341!
As always Shawn, FREAKIN AMAZING!! This thread continues to be the highlight of my week. I Love seeing the creativity that you are lucky enough to be surrounded by on a daily basis. Thanks again for a peek inside!!
I have the good fortune of being surrounded by extremely talented co-workers
Is that aqua violet glow on that HB with the bird inlay on the heel? It's amazing!!!!
All week long I love my PRS instruments, then Friday comes, and my wonderful guitars seem just plain.
At least you give me plenty to dream about.
Thank you, Shawn. Awesome stuff as always.

Wow. This might be the best week, yet! Thanks, Shawn.
