Earlier I posted this thread about new year resolutions.
One of my bullets was
- Work through one music book/video a month.
I am compiling my list but thought to ask...
What are your favorite instructional / study materials for guitar?
Thanks,
Jesse

Any time I feel I need some inspiration, I always go back and watch this video. There are so many good tips on it... slide, tone, vibrato, bends, note selection. If you are into any type of blues or blues/rock, check this one out.

If you want something a little more insane... speed, warmups, tempo, technique... check out the insanity:

I have almost all of the Guitar Grimoire series of books as well... tons of fun stuff if you have the time and patients to dig into it or want to learn some theory.
Hope it helps!

Alex Lifeson did some instructional stuff on GarageBand, if you have that. It's what finally got me to be able to play a semi-passable version of the intro to "Spirit Of Radio". He also did things for "Working Man" and a couple others.
Been spending time w/this Randy Rhoads DVD:

Also have the Petrucci, an Ace Frehley and a couple John 5 in the pile. Need to pick up the Tremonti.
And going back to VHS, I need to update this to DVD:

Brendon Small also did some instructional things on YouTube around the last season - search for "shreducation":

Chet Atkins Off The Record.
It is a pretty small book but some very interesting stylistic things in it - and quite a few tunings.
Petrucci is killer. During summer, I was practicing the Rock Discipline about 2 hours a day, got to 3rd lesson after couple of weeks and had to stop because of the constant tingle in my arms (starting tendinitis I guess).
