    I might be bringing my stepson this year. He's interested in learning to build guitars/basses. Maybe it will give him motivation enough do actually do it and not piss his time away doing something he doesn't care about. I'm bummed I never got to bring my dad as he shared my PRS obsession and would've loved the Experience, hopefully I can share it with Jakeb. Only downside is I would miss the Hans Extravaganza.

    Can anybody help a first timer out and recommend a hotel to stay at? Or at least the hotel where most everyone stayed last time?

    They usually discount rooms for the event. You can always shack up with somebody and split costs.

    Hilton Garden Inn is very popular. You can find gear whores in the lobby.

    The Sheraton is a favorite of mine because Famous Dave's is right there.

    Last year we were admonished for our failure to put the furniture back in it's place.

    Sooo, should I be reserving a hotel now or do they discount any rates at a few hotels for the event when it gets closer??

    (Sorry, new to the Experience this year)

    Hey wait...I specifically put that furniture back (pretty well I might add). Somebody is more anal-retentive about cleaning the living room than my mom was. Regardless of what they found, it will be NOTHING compared to this year after your party.

    I would book your room now, and then cancel it if discounted rooms arise. If its with the same hotel they can usually adjust your reservation and if its a different hotel, you can book there and cancel the existing reservation. You don't want to be sleeping in the factory parking lot at night. Hans and I walk around with flashlights and would probably scare you.
