I had a local buddy make a faceplate for my 2 channel H out of a piece of burly claro that I had lying around. This piece of wood had so many bark inclusions and knots that we had to maneuver the template around to get a workable piece. While I don't necessarily like it any better than the flamed maple, I do think this natural piece of walnut looks cool with the paisley covering.
