Thank you.
Not like the other kids...
I wonder how thick that veneer is.
I would be afraid of sanding right through it.![]()
Look what came in the mail today!

Just a quick update for you guys.
Today I'll be taking a look at the trem backplate. Those of you that wondered about recessing the knobs, it is possible. But the tricky part is to get the correct depth and carve you would need to sand down the inside of the control cavity, cut a piece of maple to the rightsize and glue it in the top of the control cavity. Then you could recess the knobs without any more problems than the fact that you would loose the veneer in those places. As this is a bigger job I will be leaving the top unrecessed and focusing more on other things.
HNPD!
(Happy New Parts Day)
Your project is looking good!
Not like the other kids...
So I've been really busy this past week and not really had much time for my project. Also my new HBII just arrived so i had to spend some time with that as well. Here is the latest on the Tremonti Cstom project:
The trem plate has been routed for(really this is just stupid not to do in the factory stage imo!)
all the holes for the tuners and jack have been filled in and sanded down.
and The headstock has been fitted with macacauba veneer
Heres a before shot of the headstock
and here are the after shots
this upcoming week I hope to start staining the neck!
Short update today, first coat and mock up before sanding and redying!
