Allen bolts on the keys: maybe the thumscrews got lost?
Looks like they replaced the original nut with a thinner, Fender style nut, leaving a gap between the nut and truss rod cover.
I'll take it off his hands for $50.

I already have an old worn in guitar, a cheap(er-ish) sparkled guitar, and that white CE to experiment on, I'm pretty sure the next one has to be something really opulent. (although still a CE)
