    Should I Be Worried?

Or, CE BCS Part II...second day in a row, a different CE...this one a 1992...

When pulling the neck pup, I discovered a crack in the wood as seen below. I ain't no luthier...is this a problem? It's easier to see in the second photo:

48-hour acceptance on this one, so opinions are needed and appreciated...thanks...

What? Are you trying to make me crazy? You are having my dream NGD twice this week! Arrgh!

I think it is probably fine, if there are no stress cracks at either side of the neck plate I wouldn't be too worried about it. More PICS!!!!

Sergio - you and I are like-minded. Older CEs and winged tuners rock. Not glamorous shots, but a few nonetheless:

Nice flame on this one, it's har to photograph, but there are lots of cool "sub-swirlies" in addition to the figuring, hard to see here:

It just looks like a minor chip-out to me, but it's not my wallet, and I'm not the one who will have to live/deal with it. How much do you think will it worry you on down the road?

Goldtop - so long as it's not a structural issue, out of sight, out of mind.

I have no idea what would cause something like that unless it was structural, or a repair of some sort, but consensus seems to be that it's benign. Could have been there from the beginning I suppose?

Maybe so. It strikes me as a minor thing. I suppose taking off the neck might tell you a little more? Having a look at the area from the other side?

Oh my, that's a looker. What color is that? It looks kinda like scarlet but with a black back? It doesn't get much better than that for me personally, soooo nice!

Sergio - the writing says "Scarlet RED" she is indeed RED. I was quite enamored with the red / black combo - not normally a fan of dark-colored backs because of how much they show scratches, but it really sets off the figuring on the binding, and the top. She made me 10 minutes late for work this AM...

PRS support also confirmed that the wood issue does not appear to be structural, so she's definitely staying. I will have to take some glamour shots of the Three Sisters and post soon...

Bangin' I have never seen a Scarlet Red that wasn't all red, even the binding usually is. I'm a big fan of the contrasting backs PRS does and it's really cool to see something new.
