I'm here and in line now
I am bummed I missed it today.
I was afraid I would get GAS for a Paul's Guitar or an amp or something.
Actually, I was just busy for work today...
I think I am pretty set with a PS NGD last week, one coming this week, and two more in the oven, I don't need to be inspiring additional purchases.![]()

Had a good time, got to chat with Paul for a bit:
Didn't stay until the end but I didn't look like any playing or speaking was going to take place since the line to meet him was never ending. I did get to meet vchizzle and Davy Knowles. Both were really cool dudes.

I couldn't recover fast enough from last night to go, hope you all had a great time.
A way to see what dates / locations are next?

Looks like it was a fun event.
Hopefully Paul will come over to Liverpool or Manchester in the near future.
He did an event at Toneworld in Manchester with Simon McBride but I only heard about it the day after.![]()

I forgot my real camera in the car. I didn't really take a pics. Waiting for my buddy to email me the pic of Paul and I. Much of what was there was stuff that there are far better pics out there that I could've taken today. EXCEPT THIS:
It grabbed my attention right away. I don't play bass other than a little noodling around, the nut felt a bit wider to me based on the limited amount of basses I've picked up. The neck was ultra smooth and felt unfinished(I'm sure there was something there?). The thing that I instantly noticed was the seemingly infinite amount of sustain this thing had. You could just feel the note continue to ring under your fretting hand for what seemed like forever. I wish I would've plugged it in. Also wish I could've stuffed under my hoodie and walked out the door. If the production models are like this....look out. SICK.
There wasn't the usual talks/Q&A that Paul usually does at the event today. That might've been impossible. I heard about 200+ registered and the line was non-stop pretty much the whole time.
Ahhhh. I thought there was a Brian, Chris, John, another Paul, Ron and several others. Either need to get sleeping or get drinking here, one of the 2.![]()
Anybody get a chance to try the Brent Mason model? I'd like to see some opinions regarding the tone. I figure the playability should be fine--I've never played a PRS that didn't play great, even ones that had been hanging in the local Guitar Center forever.
It sounds like a great turn out. Anyone get any pics of Pau's personal guitar?

I honestly don't remember seeing it. But it's not on my radar at all either, I may have just passed over it?
I didn't. Someone that was in line had his model and I talked to him a bit. He really likes the guitar a lot. I also forgot to tell Paul you said hi - I'm a bad friend![]()
They had a black one there but no pics since I already had one at home:
It's awesome. These pickups are great, even more versatile than the 408s and Siggy's IMHO. You can get awesome 2 and 4 position strat tones. The only other PRS I played that can do that as well is the DC3 but obviously it's a one trick pony. It gets great driven tones as well. I love the tonal combination of the maple neck and korina body. I guess that bolt on neck and longer scale length give it enough strat/tele traits that you don't miss the alder or ash body. The overwound narrow 408 treble is very 57/08 ish to me as far as output and it's not as compressed as the full sized 408. I'd be interested to hear this bridge pickup in the neck position of a 408 Siggy. I bet it would solve the issue I had with the bass 408 in that guitar not being hot enough. In the BM model, it's a good match since it's blends with the 305 middle pickup very well, even when the buckers aren't split.

I played his guitar! It was so cool. I'm interested in the 408 that they didn't have at the store, so Paul said "the 408 plays very similar to my guitar. Take it and play it for a while." It was awesome and he is so cool. So I'm on the list for when CME gets the inventory for the 408's. Although Paul was trying to sell me a P22.

Sometimes in life you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right.
