Hey All
Don't have my first PRS yet - still shopping. I saw a 3 soapbar PRS last night but did not get to check it out. What model would it be? It had a one piece body without a veneer top.

Custom 22 Soapbar...
Jamie
Hi there and welcome!
It's most probably a Custom 22 Soapbar, there's been a couple of runs of these, from 1999ish to 2002ish or something, then another "limited" run from 2008ish to 2010ish (I'm really not sure of those years).
Double cut Mahogany body, maple cap (are you sure it didn't have a maple cap?), regular D-shape Maple nitro neck (at least on the early ones), 3 x Seymour Duncan P-90s, one volume, one tone, one 5-way switch where the middle position selects the bridge and neck pickups, instead of just the middle (very Tele like, I dig this switching).
You can get 10-tops, ones with or without birds etc.
If it had a one piece mahogany body I'd be very interested to see it! Got any pics or a link?
Exactly. For every person you see logged in, there are three times as many lurking.

Wow I'm way too trusting, I assumed if someone posts on a forum asking for an opinion that's as good as calling dibs! I forgot there's nasty people in there world when I'm surrounded by nice ones such as you guys...
Yeah. I wouldn't buy a guitar out from under anyone myself, but I know it's happened before on most forums at one point or another. At least not without asking them about it.
To me that's like cutting another dudes grass. Not cool.

and to Pete - sorry about the off-topic banter. Forgot to mention the CU22 Soapys are a fantastic guitar, very versatile and can grind with the best of them. Naturally the P-90s are a little bit noisy in the wrong situations (when there's a lot of EMF floating about) but that's just par for the course for a big singlecoil.
If that bothers you, it might be wise to check out a NF3 (or similar) instead.
Looks exactly like the one in the photo at the link below, post #6. Does look like mahogany. I will tell you guys where it is either after I buy it, or after I decide not to buy it. It is Dibs. Hope it is still there tomorrow. Hate going to music stores. Go in for something cheap and leave with a guitar. What price range is acceptable to pay?

Ah yes, PRS KL380. I forgot they did a limited run of Korina bodied guitars with different pickup configurations. Here's a link to an old Sweetwater listing with a bit more info:

What is the maximum a KL 380 is worth (US Dollars)
We don't really talk dollars on here (at the request of PRS), your best bet is to check for any listings (completed or otherwise) on the net and go from there. The market dictates pricing. Since there was only 100 made, that may be a little difficult. As always, it all depends on condition but if you're after a ballpark comparison, I'd say around the same as a first run, regular non-10 Custom 22 Soapbar.
Looks kind of cool.

My dad just picked one up from Wildwood today! It's a green 10 top. Too cool.
If the one you played is still there, grab it up! Awesome guitars.
