Thanks for posting that Sergio, I love hearing Nile tells stories about the creative process

PS- has anyone heard this entire album yet? Is all as good as the single?

The other Pharrell track I posted is as close as it comes to having another "single", but it's still pretty good. I think it's gonna be one of those albums you have to listen to a few times before really getting into.... which is a good thing.

Here you go Shawn, I know Giorgio isn't a guitarist but I found this one fascinating. I have always been interested in his work and thanks to this Daft Punk project I finally got to see an interview from him. The cool thing about this interview and Nile's is that they are both talking about how important dance music is socially and it's ability to give people a positive experience when things are not going so well in the world, it's a sentiment I have been feeling for the past few years. I started doing my solo disco-ish project a couple of years ago in my spare time and it's about to be finished in a month or two, so I'm really psyched about this daft Punk record. When I told people what I was doing I got reactions just this side of obscene, so this is like a gift to me... just knowing I wasn't THAT crazy.

Good stuff Sergio, thanks! I have no idea why I'm so intrigued with this band, but I am.

I just went out and purchased an actual psychical copy of this, it's good... real good. Not every song is like the Pharrell tracks, there is a lot of diversity on this record, and a lot of guitar. The album has Nathan East, Omar Hakim, and Prs's very own Paul Jackson Jr playing on it! Album of the Summer.

Hoping to cover this tune at my band's next show. Our other guitarist picked up a cool synth that has a vocoder function that should come in handy.
-I'm no expert, but it seems to work and I haven't electrocuted myself yet. Which is pretty much the standard I live by.

I'm in love with this album. I'm not into their old music at all, but this album is a masterpiece.

Nile Rogers and Paul Jackson, Jr. laid down some great guitars. Greg Leisz plays some great steel. Omar Hakim kills it on drums! A lot of other great studio cats on there as well, but those are the stand outs for me. It's all mixed and mastered beautifully. Definitely a headphone album.

I read up about the production and the duo financed it themselves, so there was no label pressure for time or budget. They spent 2 1/2 years and a million bucks making it, and that time and attention really shows. May as well go ahead and give them the Grammy.
