New Guy and a NGD Custom 24

Hello all! First I'll introduce myself, I'm Jeff from Utah and I have been admiring PRS guitars for a long time. I've probably bought around 30 guitars over the years trying to find the one. I recently got an SE Custom 24 just to try out PRS guitars and it was a very good guitar for the money and I really liked it. Since then, I had been on the lookout for a U.S. made Custom 24 that had the features I was interested in and the right color. I finally found the one I was looking for, I knew it the minute I saw it. The guitar was born in December 2011 and I bought it as new old stock. It has the pattern thin neck which is perfect for me and the 59/09 pickups which are exactly the ones I wanted. The color is blue crab blue. The guitar is fantastic and I'm now hooked on PRS. I'm not sure how it ended up in this particular case but I'm not complaining because its really nice.

That could be an artist package. How about a shot of the headstock?

    Welcome! Nice score!

Thanks everybody. I wish it was an artist package but its not, here's the headstock. It just migrated to the wrong case at some point I think. The guitar was perfectly set up when I got it but the strings were dead. I suspect they were the original strings so the first thing I did was put a new set on. I do have one question; The tuners are really stiff and a bit hard to turn. Is that normal for these Phase III tuners?

Sweet looking guitar! Does the guitar look greenish without a flash, in natural light? Reminds me of Anderson's Bora Bora Blue.

Regular Custom 24, but it looks like you scored an artist case with it! Nice!

Beautiful guitar! I may be biased though. Here's my CU22 born around the same date.

I LOVE that blue crab blue color. I was about to pull the trigger on one last summer when I found a custom 24 in a very good looking blue. I would love to post pics but i dont know how to do it. Some of the guys here tried to explain it to me but I need 1st grade instructions to get it done. Mine has 5909s and I love those p-ups.

    nice looking machine.

BTW. The tuners on my cu24 were stiff and hard to turn as well. When I put new strings on I use a speed winder to make a few turns before I put the string on.

You can also try unwinding the string, the loosening and retightening the screw that goes through the tuning button, I've changed buttons without slackening the string and had similar issues.
