In the last 16 months I've been asked to preside at the funerals of both my father and one of my brothers. For both I started by quoting from the Julie Miller song "All My Tears."

When I go don't cry for me, for in my father's arms I'll be
The wounds this world's left on my soul, will all be healed and I'll be whole

Emmylou Harris has a version, as do Jars of Clay. My favorite is Julie's version from "Broken Things." Julie I hope that when my time comes, it will be played at my funeral. Truth brings comfort.

Pink Floyd's Great Gig in the's to the point of dying and it's short so my audience won't get bored.

"And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I

Don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime."
"I never said I was frightened of dying."

Thumbs up on Brothers in Arms. That's the first song that came to mind for me. One of my all time favorites.

Creep by Radiohead. It's my theme song. Fitting for when I leave this world.

well, i can't limit it to one. if anyone actually shows up, there are four i would like played, even if it's just to an old Gary Oak.
maybe i should do a "set list", not likely that any people will be there ... but, hey ... "maybe the good Lord, likes a little pickin' too" ... who knows?

Please See That My Grave Is Kept Clean ... Blind Lemon Jefferson ... the root of it all.
Rock Steady ... Bryan Adams and Bonnie Raitt ... What I've always tried to be. Good old Canadian boy, gorgeous, red-headed lesbian ... what's not to like?
House Is A' Rockin' ... SRV ... not going to get into the "who is the best guitarist" debate. SRV is just my favourite.
Fox On The Run ... from a cassette that our band made many, many years ago.

Also, a couple of pictures from the late seventies ...

Emmylou and Slyvia Tyson, the two best looking women I've ever seen.
Everyone forgets Slyvia ... man, she was' stunning.
you had to meet them in person, pictures do not do justice, fortunately i have.
