    I voted not to Floyd.

Because too many little tools to deal with just to tune 'em up. And the metal nut thingy.
If something is too hard to do, then it's not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the closet next to your short-wave radio, your karate outfit and your unicycle and we'll go inside and watch TV.

This right here. I love playing on them, but way too much hassle. If I had a guitar tech....different story....but if I have to do all the maintenance forget it! Haha!

Had to vote no... Floyds are just ugly most of the time and all the other reasons mentioned above.

Having said that, the black Floyd on The Raven works well but that's because it doesn't stand out.

Floyds are stupid and I wouldn't want one, and I wouldn't want a seven string either.... so in this case I vote: HELL YES!!! What else are you going to do with a seven stringer besides open the gates of hell with a demonic dive-bomb?!? (please, I know there are other things to do with a 7string, I was just being dramatic and don't need any youtube links.)

...only when they crawl up your skirt. (j/k bud!)

I don't always Floyd, but when I do, I prefer the Raven.

And since I interpreted your question as to whether or not you should Floyd the SE 7, I voted HELL YES. A trem lock would be a great idea for those big tuning changes, but otherwise, that's a rock monster.

Haterz gonna hate. Only a real man can handle the power of a Floyd. :P (plus, it's only way to do gen-yoo-ine EVH. Not to mention Montrose's Bad Motor Scooter.)

If you do happen to break out in Eruption I suggest you follow rule 3 from The Jerk. "See a doctor and get rid of it."

You have to Floyd that beast! And then keep a lit cigarette on the headstock.

I also think you should refinish it to a Goldtop/black back.

I voted yes. Not because I would, but because you want it...right? If you're thinking about it and asking the question, you have a desire and use for the Floyd. You can always buy another to have a fixed bridge. Go for it.
Plus - it will give us a nice PTC thread to watch

Back in the 80s I wouldn't have a guitar without a Floyd. Once you get the restringing thing down its not so bad. Back then most everybody stayed in A440 and didn't use drop tunings quite as much as today. I did grow tired of the extra effort to restring and went away from trems for a while. I bought a cu24 trem last year because I wanted a trem again and because I wanted a cu24/5909 guitar and im glad I did. Just love that guitar.

I do like my prs but nothing works like a well set up Floyd, period. I wonder how a Floyd with locking tuners would work? The locking nut is more of a pain to me than the Floyd itself. Any thoughts on this???

I'm not a big Floyd Rose fan. To each his own, but I'll pass. I listen to Jeff Beck, or Jimi, or Greg Koch, and the thought 'Man, if only he had a Floyd Rose' never enters my mind.

    Hmmm...

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,

    ....pondering complete.

    .....hell yes.
