    Such a historic day. Its hard to even imagine the amount of sacrifise people made back then to be part of such an important movement, even more hard to imagine what the world would be like if the didn't....

    I visited there 10 years ago when I was lucky enough to spend some time in Europe. When you see the actual location, the remains of the bombed out bunkers, the never ending graves, you start to realize the magnitude of what actually went on there. It's a shame that stuff like that has to happen.

    I agree. i was there in 2001. stood on omaha beach, and in german bunkers looking out at the english channel and omaha beach. it just takes your breath away imagining. amazing how the land at the top of omaha is still full of the craters from the bombardment. going there, and flying in a b-17, are probably 2 of the greatest things i'ver experienced!

    Im taking my son to the Oshkosh air show this summer. he wants to see B-17 and B-29 bombers. Should be fun.
