Black Sabbath back at top of charts

I picked up the MP3 album Saturday via Amazon.
    Some very good tunes it.

Original lineup except drummer Bill Ward was replaced by Rage Against The Machine's drummer Brad Wilk.
Heavy Metal veterans Black Sabbath have scored their first number one album in the UK for nearly 43 years.
Frontman Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler - along with drummer Brad Wilk - beat Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye to the top spot with their long-gestating album, 13.

"I'm in shock!" said 64-year-old Osbourne. "The success of this album has blown me off my feet."

You're never too old to rock and roll!
If something is too hard to do, then it's not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the closet next to your short-wave radio, your karate outfit and your unicycle and we'll go inside and watch TV.

The new album rocks! Very much like the first albums, even ends on the rain and church bells where the first album opens whcih is a cool touch.

This song below has such heavy riffage in it.
Heck they all do, Tony Iomi is the master of drop tuning riffage

PS, you can find more videos on their YouTube channel.

    I absolutely love the album!!

Have been listening to it nonstop.

Incredible these 65 year olds but together this amazing album.

This album can hang with the original Ozzy Sabbath albums, no question!

August 16th, seeing them on tour, front row seats, can't wait!!

That sounds like what's been missing for a long time. Looks like I need to be old school tomorrow and pick up a new CD.

Has anyone found an online lossless source for this?

Here is actually a better one of the second video I posted earlier.
I listened to about four of the songs on the way into work this morning, very good sounding.
Ozzy's vocals are tight, Geezers bass lines compliment Tony's playing, and Brad Wilks drumming is great.

I bought 13 off of iTunes the day it came out, and haven't stopped listening to it. It's GREAT. Reminiscent of the old stuff, and it's full of great riffs and songwriting. A MUST for any Sabbath fan!

I am only about half way through the album, but this morning the last song I listened to was "Damaged Soul."
That one is very old school blues/rock oriented.

A few vids on YouTube of that song, but one will not play here in the US.
One that will is not appropriate to play here or if you are at work with the pics the author added to it.
It has lots of boobies in it.
Covered up, but I do not feel comfortable posting it here.

But anyways, yes, that song is very old Black Sabbath.

Here is a video of the studio though and some background on the making of the new album.

The more I listen to this album, the more I like it.
AC/DC is one of my all time favorite bands and I like their tone, but...
One of my most favorite overdriven saturated tube sounds is Tony Iomin's riffage and chords.
I know he uses a custom built Gibson SG and Laney amps, but is there a PRS amp that gives you nearly the same sound?

The riffs, lead, and power chords in this song below just sound amazing to me.

Updated post nine above, as the one that was there got changed to "private", and Black Sabbath just uploaded an official one today.

I am still listening to this album, it is in rotation on my iPod I listen to in my rig.

Age of Reason is my favorite cut from the new album, especially the last two minutes of the song

I like this album quite a bit. I was a big Sabbath fan back in the day and I think they really knocked it outta the park with this album. I think it's difficult to come back with all the expectations. Seems like they went about it the right way and the end result is great.

Not a new song, but goes along with the guitar lesson I posted yesterday from Andy at Pro Guitar Guitar shop.
Looks like this was published when Bill Ward was still with them, and before they cut the new album.
