    Preparing Mods and need info

I'm looking to do some mods to my SE Semi-Hollow w/Bigsby and have some questions. Going to be replacing the pickups (not sure what kind yet) as well as all electronics. Also, installing a tusqnut and a killswitch.

As far as electronics, can I just get the 3-Way/Push-Pull Drop-in from the PRS store? (ACC-4120)

Thinking about installing a mini toggle for coil tapping and wanted to know what replacement electronics I need to get since I wouldn't get the push-pull set if I go this route.

What is the difference between this drop-in and the McCarty drop-in?

What is the best input jack to use? Where can I get one?

Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I like the way the Starla pickups look, but was for more output. Going for hard rock & heavy metal tones, will these do it?

    \m/'s!!!

I wish I'd had the sense to snag one of these while there were still some flame top ones floating around. I envy you sir.
-I'm no expert, but it seems to work and I haven't electrocuted myself yet. Which is pretty much the standard I live by.

I'm leaning towards the \m/s since I love them in my CE22

Well I'm pretty sure mods will consist of

    \m/ pickups
    Tusqnut
    Mini toggle
    Killswitch
    Upgraded all electronics

Will US electronics be best best or another company?

Sorry for all the questions, but new at modding guitars. Usually pickups is the most I do.

Fun to do on your own. Whatever pickups you use make sure they are 3 or 4 wire conductor (for coil splitting). I recently did some mods to my HBII including adding coil split toggles, I'm no pro but I learned a lot. For a mini toggle you'll need a DPDT on/on (easy option, don't know how fancy you want to get with it. Check out the 2012 schematics for the Mira, very simple). I got my parts from mammothelectronics.com, they were the only site I could find that had mini toggles with different length handles to chose from. There's something else to consider with the coil split. Resistors. With a true coil split you lose a lot of output, and without a buffer or compressor it sounds thin. If you look at the DGT schematics you'll notice the coil split circuit sends the signal through resistors (1.1k neck, 2.2k bridge) before grounding. This will add a little more output and fatten the coil split without losing the sparkly-spanky-jangle of the single coil. Try to find a DGT demo video and you'll hear what I'm talking about. Not the same as the sig/408 split, but a cheap and effective idea. As for the other electronics just find any quality 500k pots (cool that the PRS tone pot comes with capacitor already soldered). I recommend Switchcraft for 3ways and output jacks.

Psyched to see how this turns out. I've admired that guitar since you got it, and your mods sound bangin'!

Thanks guys for the suggestions and kind words. It will probably be a few months before I get it all done. I have other priorities I need to take care of first.

Ordered everything except the pots and pickups today. Had to rethink it a little bit. Was planning on putting mini toggle to the right of the volume and the killswitch to the right of the mini toggle. While measuring everything out for placement of added switched I realized that its not gonna work for me. The killswitch will get in the way of my picking so I'm putting it closer to the volume and the mini between the tone and 3-way

The mini toggles are pretty small. You might be able to fit it between the tone knob and the 3way (down a little, making a triangle between the three), or between the volume and tone.
