The Sword - Apocryphon + Bonus Tracks

    Anyone hear of The Sword?
My son when he came over yesterday before we went and got his new Android phone showed me these guy's on YouTube.
Old school rock and Black Sabbath influence.

Here is the whole new album, thinking of getting it from Amazon within the next few minutes.
    This is their latest album.

I could swear that was almost Tony Iommi playing the guitar in the video below.

This is the one he showed me yesterday that made me think I better buy their new album, but it is on an older album from 2010.
Maybe I will get that one too

I did end up buying two of their MP3 albums.
Not sure if you can view these if you are not an Amazon member or not.
So far I have gotten a little over half way through the Warp Riders album when out for my walks.
The more I listen to it I do hear early Black Sabbath, but the singers voice sounds a lot like the main singer for the group Mastodon.

We saw them open for Clutch earlier this year. Never heard of them before, either, but after their set I walked over to the merch table and picked up an album. Since then, I have gotten more. Yeah, very Sabbathy with, dare I say, a better singer. It's just heavy, sludgy metal. Love it.

In fact, we were supposed to see them tonight, again with Clutch, but Clutch's lead singer had to have some neck surgery. The tour restarts again in a month or so. Our show has been rescheduled until January.
