Here's what I'm listening to tonight. Why? Got me... A "Jolene T-O-O-T".

    Dolly's 'Official' Redone version.

Mindy Smith's version with a little help in the video from Dolly herself.

Miley's 'Pre-Herb' version. (Admittedly, that's speculation on my part, and none of my bizz, yo...)

Sunday morning. May we all have a good day today. I've got this one from Donnie Young AKA Johnny Paycheck playing right now.

I'd actually never heard Miley Cyrus sing before that video, so thanks GT! Like her voice, allot! Now all she needs to do is draw attention to herself and she should be fine.

Hi there! How are things in California?

I searched high and low for the video of Miley and Dolly doing a duet of Jolene while both running jackhammers at a construction site, but I never could find it. It's an outtake from their 'Working Girls' project, a rarity from Europe.

I have to say that I've always liked Miley's voice. I don't care for her music now, or her tabloid-esque hijinks, but I believe the voice is still in there somewhere. Oh well; I doubt she needs my cash - or my opinion - anyway.

Good Monday Morning People! A Great week to each of you and to myself if you don't mind.

Whew... I'm still trying to rid my mind of the sights and sounds of that, uh..., Weird PeeWee League, uh... whatever the heck it was, football game yesterday. WHAT WAS THAT?!?!?!

Note to Pro Bowl Committee: When trying to revamp and revitalize a sadly insignificant sporting event, changing the colors of the uniforms to those resembling the contents found in the diapers of baby gargoyles is not the answer! The Pro Bowl once had prestige. It was (and should still be IMO) an honor to be chosen by your peers to represent your industry. Goofy gimmicks, weird color schemes, insipid sideline reports about minutiae... No wonder interest and ratings are down.

    - End of Rant -

Now, I've been up most of the night, so I can attest that the statements made in this song are true, at least in my part of the world. There IS Good Rockin' at Midnight!

A good Tuesday to everyone. May we all have a good day today.

I'm nervous. In a few hours I head to the first of three different cardiology appts. today. I wanted to bunch them all up on the same day, and get them as close together as possible, because I want to do it all in one shot. But I'm nervous. I may end up with anything from bad news to no news at all, or anything in between. But I'm trying to stay positive. I've had some good things happen recently (finding the Buck LP and the Storyville CD I mentioned a few days ago), so hopefully more good things are headed my way today.

I hope the same is true for everybody reading this; Good Omens, Good Things and Good Days Ahead.

This was my dad's favorite song. Back when it was a hit single for Willie, every time it would come on the radio my dad would cry. Today was his birthday; he would have been 90.

Good Wednesday Morning, People! I was talking with a lady at the doc's office yesterday, and she was almost angry that January was about over. I can't say that I'm that put out about it, but it does seem like it's been a fast month.

Anywhooo, I caught the end of this song somewhere yesterday. Reason enough to give it a listen today. The Busboys.

I'd like to offer my thanks to Daniel over in the 'Song Title Game' thread for the inspiration for this one. Another one from Shirley Bassey, it's the theme song to my favorite James Bond movie.

A Wednesday "T-O-O-T". I've been a fan of Mark Knopfler's playing since the first time I heard him, and I'm sure there are lots of us who can say the same. In every interview with him that I've ever seen or heard or read, he always seems like such a good, down-to-earth, genuine guy. Nice, honest, humble, kind. So based on that, I'm a fan of him as a person too. This is one of my favorite songs of his...

    The Dire Straits version.

    The cover by John Anderson.

The inspiration for this is special. There is a new member here on the forum who posted a video of herself yesterday. In it she's playing acoustic and singing an original song she wrote. Watching her somehow reminded me of Jessi Colter. So Jana99, thank you.
