"Someday We'll Be Together" by The Supremes. Ah, my personal ode to all of the guitars in my mind and in my heart. I've designed plenty, and two or three are really special to me. Maybe someday...

'Lovely as a Summer day'. Well, that's all well and good, but I'd rather have a Fall or even Winter day myself. Not a big fan of Summer. When you're working outside, and you get all hot and dirty and sweaty. Yuck. You know; your hair sticks to your forehead and your neck and you make the skin of your face raw by wiping your face on your sleeve with your shoulder time after time after time. Sweat in your ears, sweat in your eyes, sweat in the 'southern hemisphere'... Man, I hate that. And hayfever. Don't get me started on the hayfever! Sneezing, runny nose, eyes watering, the headaches... Terrible. And then there's the bugs. Ants, fireants, worms, centipedes, beetles, ticks, crickets, grasshoppers, Texas Tumblebugs, Alabama Mama Jamas, locusts, spiders, mosquitoes. I once heard that mosquitoes are the deadliest creatures on earth because they spread so many diseases...

Thank you Sir. Got a few more tonight. (I hope to be able to sleep at some point, but we'll see.) I'm working on a loose theme in my head, but I'm not sure where it's gonna lead me - if anywhere.

Good to hear from you Hans. My best to you and your family my friend.

'Ruby, don't take your love to town.' Who're we kiddin' here? Go on and go if that's what you want. Honestly, I'm tired of you and your legs that feel like I'm sleeping with cacti. It ain't normal for a man to wake up every morning and have to spend the first hour of his day tending to the multiple leg wounds he suffered the night before from a woman who refuses to use a razor! What? Is personal upkeep against your religion or something?!? Go on 'Spike'! Pack your crap and go already!

'She came in through the bathroom window'. I know this one ain't about my ex-mule. (Who still hasn't paid me this month by the way... As of today she's three weeks late, and it's got me in a serious jam. I need a good lawyer who works cheap.) My ex (A) isn't agile enough to climb through a window, and is (B) a bit, shall we say, too 'healthy', to get through said window. I'm not exactly slim and trim myself, so I know whereof I speak. My ex ain't climbing on anything, except maybe a stool in front of a slot machine at a casino.

Forty-five years. Yesterday was the 45th anniversary of man landing on the moon. American man at that. I know everybody can be so busy today, and our lives can be so hectic. But please try to take a few minutes and just consider the idea.... Mortal men and women, just like you and me, worked together, never gave up regardless of the cost, and made a dream come true. Humans went to the moon, landed on it, worked several days, and then returned safely to their home on earth. By today's standards, it may seem like it's not that big a deal. But it was. And it still is. July 20, 1969.

Glen Campbell singing a Jimmy Webb tune about one of my most beloved places on earth. I love Galveston, Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, and that area of The Gulf Coast almost as much as I love music. Not as much, but in the neighborhood.

A Massive Country star in his time, the late Mr. Porter Wagoner. He wrote lots of songs that went on to be hits, including this one. "The Carroll County Accident".

Another big Country star in his time, although not nearly as big as Porter (with all due respect). How big was Doug Kershaw? Big enough that he got married in The Houston Astrodome in about 1975 or so. Hey, if you're gonna make a mistake, make it a big one, right?!?

'Diggy Liggy Li and a Diggy Liggy Lo - Everyone knew she was a ho'. No, wait a minute. That's not how it goes. I messed up there. Nevermind. My mistake. Sorry.

My favorite "POE" (Period of Elvis). White jumpsuits, a little heartbreak and sadness mixed in there, getting it done on the road, and more than able to rock it with some Swamp Boogie when needed (check out "Promised Land"). Some may have felt that music had passed him by at this point, but in my book he was on a level all his own, untouchable by trends and fads and hits du jour.

Oh, and Priscilla? If you see this, a big, wet, juicy raspberry to you Honey! How dare you hurt The King! If he was so awful, then why don't you go back to your maiden name?

'Daddy Sang Bass - Mama Sang Tenor'. And Cousin Angus just sat out on the porch and nodded back and forth. He hasn't been the same since the cow fell out of the tree and landed on him... (Don't ask.)

This is my last post of the night. I just feel too bad to keep at it. Everything I've posted tonight has been from 1969. I was thinking about the moon landing, and that Summer, and the music, and I just let it lead me along. A lot happened that Summer; there was the trip to the moon, there was Woodstock, and there was the Manson murders. And not too much later, Altamont took place, and time changed forever. Again.

This last one is by Mrs. Marty Stuart aka Connie Smith. That's followed by a short clip of them talking about a very important night in their lives.

I hope you enjoyed something I posted tonight. Never quit dreaming. Those dreams can - and do - come true every day. Even as low as I feel tonight, I know I've got some amazing dreams yet to come.

P.S. - Don't be shy; everybody is welcome to post here.

Toozday! Hey everybody! Have a good one today, alright?

I woke up with this one in my head for some reason. This is a "T-O-O-T" of "Don't Toss Us Away". My opinion? Lone Justice should have been a HUGE band, but it just didn't happen for some reason. For one thing - and this is simply my opinion - much of the production on their records left a lot to be desired.

    Patty Loveless.

    Lone Justice.

This one's for Hans, who reminded me of Clarence Carter yesterday. I was going to post "Strokin'", but there are a couple of words in it that might be a bit much for the forum here. So hopefully a good substitute is "Patches".
