An obvious choice for today, but with a little twist. Guess Who? Okay. Krokus? I guess. Who? I guess. Who do you guess? Right. Krokus? I guess that's who. You guess Krokus? Yeah, that's who. Who who? Huh? Krokus, I guess...

Goldtop, I guess. Try to focus.

You can still rock in America. Well, maybe not you there. No, not you... You. Yeah, you; the one over there with the weird hat. I don't know if you can rock or not. That beanie may have to go, friend.

Lee Greenwood. I don't know that it's an actual law that Americans hear this song today, but just in case...

Aaron Tippin. Very underrated artist IMO. He's got that kind of voice, while mine sounds like a goat with a leg injury. Ah well... At least I'm unattractive to go along with it. Thanks "Big G"!

The REAL deal, not the Weird Al parody (although I'm a big Weird Al fan).

Here is a video on the history of our American Flag.

Today isn't about me of course, but I have a story that sort of ties in with the 4th, so I've decided to share it here.

My parents have been dead for quite a while now, but a few years ago I was going through an old box of things that had belonged to my dad, and I found some old, old letters. It turned out that his great, great, great, great - I don't remember exactly how many 'greats' but it was several - grandmother had been friends with THE Betsy Ross. The lady talked about how she and Betsy had met, what life was like in those days, etc. A lot of the writing was faded and hard to read, but some of it was pretty clear.

The thing I remember most was that in some of the letters the lady had written how Betsy Ross was very fun-loving and had a good sense of humor. She said that Betsy Ross had kept her in stitches...
