This is Oskar. He's 13 and the speed of a throw pillow. Is it his advanced Dachshund age? No...he's always been a laid back dude.

Looks like there are all kind of "chew toys" for the pup in this photo!

My old dog had an antler and he chewed and chewed on it for a long time before it finally disappeared. It was one of the best we ever got for him. (80 lb labrador).

He died over a year ago and we've been searching for the right dog ever since. Over the weekend we met a rescue Lab named Sam, he was PERFECT. Unfortunately the foster parent didn't think we were perfect and gave him to someone else. I think he found someone else who didn't also have our hectic life schedules. It's understandable, but still sad.

Our 4 & 1/2 pounds of furry Maltese fury, Lilly, does well with the PetCo rubber ring toys.

Mine loves antlers (we walk around our woods and find them), and empty peanut butter jars.

Here are some of Lenny's favorites (they dont survive long).

    Pizza

    Marge

    Angry Bird

She likes rawhide bones a lot. But, the only reason they last a while is because for about 2 weeks she will walk around the house burying it and crying about where to bury it....then she will chew it like crazy for about 24 hours.

Our dog does the same thing with some treats. She'll pace the house for 15 minutes, then lay it down in the middle of the floor. I usually get up and hide it, and I always laugh at the expression on her face when she comes back and it's not there. What's funny is sometimes I'll show her that I've taken it, and she still goes back to where she put it down.

My sister in law has a Bulldog that looks a lot like yours Mard, except "Athena" can't keep her tongue in her mouth.

As much of a knucklehead as I think my dog is, every now and then she surprises me. When she was younger, I taught her to high five. And if I call her and she thinks I have a treat, she'll try all the things we taught her trying to figure out which one wins the treat - even before we say anything.

Yesterday, she came over and sat in front of me after I got up. I petted her a bit, then held my hand up and said, "High five". Right on cue. Did it again - same result. Then I held up my hand and said, "Don't do it". And she didn't. As much as I was stunned, my wife couldn't believe it and said it must have been dumb luck. So I went through it again - and she didn't do it again when I told her not to. So we did it in front of the kids after lunch - and she nailed it again. My wife is thoroughly stunned at this point.
