Risky: "My new CU22 shows how crappy my amp is."

Safest: : "_______." Amp is there, but unnoticed.

Tip: Black tolex makes all amps look pretty much alike. There's a reason PRS calls their black tolex "Stealth."

If something is too hard to do, then it's not worth doing. You just stick that guitar in the closet next to your short-wave radio, your karate outfit and your unicycle and we'll go inside and watch TV.

Wrong: "My new CU22 shows how crappy my amp is."

Better: "My old amp started sounding bad for some reason, so I replaced it. The new one's in my studio."

Best: "_______." Amp is there, but unnoticed.

I'd like to see this evolve into a "Dear Les" thread.

I cannot advise a man who persists in the belief that his significant other is omnipotent and has the power to circumvent his most personal wishes.

    This happens:

Independent guy gets married, and suddenly his wife becomes the mother-goddess figure and can tell him what to do. And we men make this possible by playing along. Why?

Because we are trained to be this way.

Well, I say humbug! It is time for us to break free of this irrational need!

A real man tells his significant other, "Look, I needed to do this. If you're pissed over it, so be it."

    Or...

You can just sneak around like most of us.

Also guilty, a few mods here and there, a HXDA, and I wouldn't have got the PTC to build The 624 if it wasn't for this forum, taking inspiration from other builds (Hans) and general love for particular guitars (Siggy, Studio, Alder CE).

Les has a great talent for enabling, basically Les is more!

You can't hide them forever, so the only thing to do is lie about the price, <cough>mintzer<cough>.

Oh heck yes! My 2011 cu24 was a forum fueled buy for sure. It started with chatter about the 5x0x pickups being so fabulous and a trip to GC to try them out. Same with drag 1 pickups.

I purchased a wampler pedal because of this forum too.

Tip 4- Tell her you haven't earned enough band deductions yet and it's needed to offset tax hit!
