It looks a little soft to have hardware on it. Is the top coat on, and if so, of what does it consist?

I primed it then painted a few coats on it. I was going to clear coat it but did not know how the eagle would react with the clear coat. I suspect this will end up 'relic' looking before too long. I will clear coat the body though. I hit it with primer today and see some more work to be done on it,

What kind of paint did you use? It looks like a nice job... though it could use another white coat on that eagle, IMHO, especially if you are going to give it a top-coat - otherwise, it will show the darker paint behind the white more clearly. I have some experience with techniques and process in several artistic disciplines, though I am sure that there are people here who are much more experienced with painting guitars who could chip in here on what (paint and) top coat would be best; I would probably use automotive polyurethane or acrylic products. You want to keep your custom job looking nice for a while, not get too relic'd, right?

Wow. What an exciting project! Good luck with her. Can't wait to see the end results.

I've got her sister CE with a killer Brazilian fingerboard. If anyone wants to do a similar project, let me know.

Love CE's to death, but all rosewood CE's came with indian rosewood boards unless it's a PS. I only mention it in case you're tryin' to sell and you don't wanna misinform your buyer.

So I finally came to the realization that this is going to have to be a three footer......only looks killer from at least three feet away and your not close eneough to see the imperfections...... So today was a gorgeous 70 degrees finally so I shot some color. It will get a few more coats and some light sanding before the clear coat but here it is a lot closer to finsihed.

How much more fuscia could this be and the answer is none...none more...fuscia.

It's like looking at yourself in a fuscia mirror.
