Nothing I was told ever referred to these guitars as "Violin Guitars" and I have been following up on this since the first peep at NAMM!

I hope they aren't called Violin Guitars but the example shown by the OP in this thread says "Violin Prototype" on the back of the headstock and has a 2014 date.

True is that Daniel. I dont know the answer. I do believe that the SC is another offering altogether. I guess all we can do now is wait for a press release from PRS that will likely explain everything.

    Info from a UK dealer:

This new range has 7 models (McCarty Singelcut, McCarty Custom 24, Santana, Tremonti, SC Archtop, Neal Schon and finally the Violin Guitar). Only a handful of shops in the UK will have them and the first run will be 120 guitars across these models for Europe. Prices are from 5995 to 7290 with the Violin at 6495.

Even if it isn't, that's what we'll call it.

Does that make the prototype of the original Violin Zero?

That depends... will calling it Violoin Zero make it more expensive when you sell it to me?

I know one for sale, but the price is pretty steep.

Yeah, I saw it. Truthfully, I'd rather have 5 world-class guitars for the same money.

Besides, I'm saving up for a silver 2015 GT3 RS with red trim.

So would I, I've even found the five.

And the car I would most likely over spend on is an RS6 avant - it's a shame we aren't considered worthy this side of the Atlantic.

Yikes - 6495 for a "violin" is more than the UK street price was for the "original" perny run of 50 ..

I don't think so. They were 10k, but the last few were discounted down to 8k...

Were the 25 international Violin McCarty's any less (relatively speaking) since they didn't have Brazilian Rosewood fretboards like the 25 sold in the US?
