    scalloped nut

Anyone know the idea behind the scalloped nut for the 513 model?Difference in sound?
I de-modded my CU22 soapbar and made a factory spec setup.Im in love again.I very much believe now PRS guitars are perfect as they are.

IIRC, the reason given at the time was because it looked cool and they wanted to try something different...

Using scalloping instead of being flat in between the string is an attempt to control the string vibration straight down to the neck in stead of to the sides of the nut and improving the sound. They use it on classical guitars but i doubt if the human ear can hear the difference on an electric...

    It looks pretty cool though!..
