Thread: New Amp Day! PRS Sweet 16+

  1. #21
I have the same speaker in a 5E3 clone, very sweet. What the difference in spec between the normal and this if you do not mind me asking?

    Awesome amp.

    Cheers

As far as I know, this is the original speaker.

If it was Chris' amp, he probably replaced everything else including the kitchen sink, though.

I've heard terms such as "specially voiced" and rumors like "custom doping", but when at the factory, I specifically looked at their speaker stock on the shelves. The boxes looked like normal WGS stock to me. Maybe they have them broken-in? It sounded very similar to the ET65s I have in other 1x12 and 2x12 cabs...if not identical.

The only thing not original is one of the screws that hold the head in. It stripped out so I put a bastard nickel screw in there....... Now I'm not saying I didn't try out some smokin' EL34's in that bad boy!!

It's that screw that gives it the unique tone, no doubt!
