see above!
To make sure you have the buttons mentioned by James:
1) Click on Settings (top right of the home page after you log in)
2) Click on General Settings (mid-way down the left side of the page)
3) Scroll to the Miscellaneous Settings section at the bottom of the page and change the Message Editor Interface from Basic to Standard. If you want even more editing options, choose Enhanced.
Also, you images MUST be hosted elsewhere. Sign up for a free account on Photobucket.com or similar free hosting site. Once your images are uploaded there (no bigger than 1200 pixels, please) then just copy the URL for that hosted image and paste in in the thread with the hot button noted above.
Or... add to the end of it without using the hot button. It does the same thing.
Example... if I just post the URL to an image, it will look like this:
http://www.prsguitars.com/content_images/paulsguitar_2013.jpg
But if I add the HTML code after that URL, it displays the image like this:

Hans...good thing you explained. When the forum changed software and appearance, my posting options were all wiped out. As I was trying to figure out how to post a picture with no icons to work with, I read this post. I assume I am not the only one who had the settings reversed when the forum changed appearance.
I was wondering where this functionality went, along with my sanity. We are having serious bandwidth issues out here and I'm having trouble with Photobucket too (the adds appear right on top of some of the pics and the links won't copy).
Happy New Year 2013
Thanks. It worked. Now on to Photobucket.

Hans.. does one have to send picts to a site like photobucket first or can we upload directly from our computer?
Your photos have to be hosted elsewhere, like on PhotoBucket.

Pic cannot be on your PC, it must be on a server somewhere like Photobucket, or your own web server like I use.
I have a personal website, so I just use the server space too to host all of my pics.
That is the pricier option though...
I got one for ya'll!
