Help with pickup noise

I'm having a bit of static at times when I play my CE22... what can this be due to?

When you immediately plug in another guitar or try a different cable, does it go away? I've had cables, failing tubes, and/or RF/EFI, create a similar issue.

If you've isolated it to the guitar, I'd do two things after checking all of the solder joints:
1) I would use a .25 cal wire brush to clean the output jack, and
2) Spray the vol and tone pots with some quality contact cleaner - stewmac.com (or Radio Shack)
