Mira

This version of the Mira has been discontinued as of July 8th, 2013. Please see the all new PRS S2 Mira!

The Mira is a guitar for today’s players with a classic feel and tone but with the quality and stability you’ve come to expect from a PRS instrument. This model features a thinner, solid mahogany body, 24-fret neck, matching pickguard and trussrod cover, Mira pickups, three-way pickup selector and a mini toggle coil tap. This combination of features lends a new voice to the PRS lineup.

Reviews

review thumbnail American Songwriter - February 2008 "I say go for it, especially if you get the cosmic moon inlays, bro. I took it to practice and everybody dug it. It's more clean than soapy, so LP Jr. folks, it's a different kinda soap." read the review

review thumbnail Guitar Edge - May/June 2008 "The action on this guitar was perfect when I received it. It played like a dream – consistent, smooth, and with accurate intonation. When sitting down, it stayed put, resting comfortably on the leg without swaying either way, as some guitars tend to do. The neck felt even and consistent throughout, and the frets were pristine." read the review

review thumbnail Guitar Player - February 2008 "With its low action and fast-playing neck, the Mira is definitely a speed machine, but even those who don’t specialize in warp-drive playing will appreciate how easy this guitar is to get around on. Beautifully built and finished, the Mira would be a great choice for young rockers, as well as veteran players of Paul Smith’s maple-topped guitars who simply want to enjoy what his latest design has to offer." read the review

review thumbnail Guitar World - February 2008 "The Mira is beautifully warm, superbly detailed and predominantly sexy through a caramel-sweet midrange. This is a bold statement but, if I could own only one Paul Reed Smith guitar, it would be the Mira." read the review

review thumbnail Jazz Times - June 2008 "Played through Fender tubes in the neck position, the low end boomed with impressive depth, particularly for such a lightweight all-mahogany piece with no carved top. For a jazz and blues player working this ax with a clean tone, the tone dial – angled off like a die and easy to twist becomes the key to the universe: At 10 you’re Stevie Ray Vaughan; at 2 or 3 you’re in the Pat Metheny Trio, firing off chromatic bop licks with a cloudy timbre nearly devoid of treble." read the review

review thumbnail Performing Songwriter - June 2008 "A lightweight, highly resonant electric with a look and sound that screams "Vintage!" And you won’t find another PRS guitar with these voices." read the review
