Back for a 7th season, FOX’s American Idol is well underway. You may have noticed a PRS guitar or two in the background or even more recently, on stage. The American Idol house band, with Paul Jackson, Jr. on guitar, provides instrumental support to the contestants as they compete for a shot at stardom. Paul Jackson, Jr. is a fusion composer, arranger, producer and guitarist. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Jackson knew by the age of fifteen that he wanted to become a professional musician. In addition to being an accomplished recording artist, Jackson is also a highly regarded L.A. session player, with a career spanning decades and a musical repertoire that speaks for itself. Jackson has contributed to projects from Michael Jackson's Thriller and Bad, to recordings from Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, rockers like Chicago and jazz greats such as Dave Koz, Al Jarreau, David Benoit and Kirk Whalum.
