Meet Gary Grainger
Maryland native Gary Grainger has been holding down the low-end in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond since the late seventies. Gary has long been an in-demand session player in the Baltimore, Washington, Philadelphia, and New York areas, having appeared on many high-profile recordings. Gary is widely known for his work with John Scofield and Acoustic Alchemy, as well as Eumir Deodato, Nancy Wilson, Lonnie Liston Smith, George Duke, Eric Marienthal and many others. He was also a member of the group Pockets, which spent time touring as the opening act for Earth, Wind & Fire. Gary is currently a member of Eightlock, with Dennis Chambers and Paul Reed Smith. Gary’s signature four and five string basses are production models based on his own Private Stock instruments.
