For much of 2019 and 2020, our team was preparing and planning for our huge factory open house on May 8th and 9th, “Experience PRS 2020.” We anticipated that over 3500 of you would join us at our headquarters in Maryland and help us celebrate our 35th Anniversary in-person. As we all know, those plans were swiftly halted. So we brainstormed, we rallied, and we turned Experience PRS 2020 into an awesome virtual event. Get the scoop here.
“From The Archives” takes an in-depth look at historically significant instruments, documents, and other goodies stored in the archives of our Maryland factory. This episode is a different approach to our normal filming process as Paul and Marc flip through one of the early PRS scrapbooks from the comfort of their own homes. Paul and Marc discover old photographs, advertisements, and cherished memories from the good old days, all recorded over a zoom call. See all this and more on our newest episode of From The Archives!
In 2017, Lindsay was looking for a change from her job as a home health aide. Her husband Jacob, a PRS employee of 13 years, suggested she apply to work at the PRS factory. Now almost three years later, she credits that decision as one of the best she’s ever made. She spent a few months as a neck sander before moving over to our inlay team - where she is an inlayer, or “inlay perfectionist” as she puts it.
Throughout our company’s history, the Dragon models may be the most visually striking instruments we’ve ever created. From ornate inlays featuring abalone, gold, and pearl, to our most highly figured woods, every limited edition Dragon is a union of art and musical instrument. In this blog we look back at every PRS Dragon ever created and share some special new video footage commemorating our latest 35th Anniversary Dragon.
Developing an entirely new guitar, let alone three of them, is no easy task. It takes a village to pull it off paired with a significant amount of communication, dedication, and vision. To help tell the story of bringing our McCarty 594 instruments to the S2 line, we interviewed two key PRS employees who were particularly involved in this project. In this blog we explore the inspiration behind the original PRS McCarty instruments and how we brought the spirit of the McCarty 594 models to our S2 family.
With over 280 days of sunshine a year, California not only provides a great tan, but also a prime location for supporting our West Coast artists and cultivating new relationships with musicians in the area. For that reason, we’ve built a PRS showroom nestled in LA’s CenterStaging - a premier rehearsal and backline facility. In this blog we interview PRS Director of Artist Relations, Bev Fowler, for some insight on this location, how it helps meet the needs of our artists, and how our company views relationships with musicians.
We’ve returned home from sunny Anaheim, California after another great NAMM show. This year’s booth held more guitars and amplifiers than we’ve ever brought to the show before and the room was packed with PRS artists, fans, dealers, media outlets, and more. In this blog you can catch a full video and photo recap of our trip to NAMM 2020!
