New SE Acoustic Line Expands PRS Guitars’ Acoustic Offerings

Posted Sep 22, 2011

The Paul Reed Smith Guitars SE Acoustic line strives to provide the finest instruments in its price point. Made with high quality components, including solid backs and solid spruce tops, bone nuts and saddles, and PRS designed SE tuners, these instruments are full of integrity. Additionally, they share the same proprietary “hybrid X” bracing pattern and several distinctive construction features as the acclaimed Maryland-made PRS Acoustic guitars. These design specifications distinguish these guitars and help give them their rich, resonant, and responsive tone, while the trademark headstock deign and bird inlays clearly portray PRS quality.

“The SE Acoustic line is a major moment for PRS, and I believe it will be very well received. The value of these instruments is remarkable and their integrity is apparent,” said Paul Reed Smith.

The initial model for this new line will be the PRS SE Angelus, named after one of PRS’s most popular Maryland-made acoustic models. The SE Angelus will be offered in both a “Standard” and “Custom” package. The Angelus Standard model will include mahogany sides, a solid mahogany back, and a rosewood fretboard and bridge. The Angelus Custom model will include rosewood sides, a solid rosewood back, and an ebony fretboard and bridge. The first PRS SE Acoustics will be pure acoustic instruments and will be available in very limited quantities in late 2011. The product line will expand to include models with built-in pickup systems early in 2012. For more information, including full specifications, please visit:
